Pride versus Proud

Pride_vs_Proud

When you’re proud, you take responsibility for your actions. It’s a motivator for the results you seek. Being proud is a good thing.

Pride can be good when used to set standards for yourself. Pride can also be good when it boosts your identity or self-image while you achieve your goals.

But … pride has the potential to be proud’s evil twin.

If pride is used to feel superior to others, then pride is not so good. It’s in this instance that pride is referred to as one of the seven deadly sins.

Superiority pride prevents you from hearing others.
Superiority pride keeps you from communicating effectively.
Superiority pride closes you and your perspective to new ideas and possibilities.
Superiority pride is all about you … and you alone.

Are you proud of your pride?
Is your pride focused on your standards and achievements?
Or is your pride about your own superiority?
