The Drill Sergeant is seen screaming in the face of the new Army recruit Forrest Gump.
**-- HERE IS THE VIDEO TRANSCRIPT --** My job is to do whatever you tell me Drill Sergeant. Hi, I'm Steve Weber and my job is to bring you 94 of the best scenes from the movie Forrest Gump in honor of the upcoming 25th anniversary of the movie. Here is today's scene. It's scene 68 and it's titled: just do what the drill sergeant says. Just do whatever you're told. When Forrest gave that answer the the drill sergeant said, "That's the most outstanding answer I ever heard" When Forrest first joined the football team, he only did what he was told. Run. Now that Forrest is in the army, his job is to do whatever he is told. Whenever we start a new adventure, a new job, a new assignment, it's important that we first do whatever we're told. There will be plenty of time in the future for you to exercise your own judgement, demonstrate your own creativity, and show off your own individual style. But at the beginning of a new venture, it's critical that you do whatever you're told. It takes Gumption to start a new venture, it takes Gumption to listen and do what is expected of you. Forrest caught on quick when he joined the army. Forrest had Gumption. Let's all be more gump-like. Let's listen and do what's expected of us, let's all live our lives with Gumption.
