Opportunities Can Hit You In the Head

0:58:23
Forrest in seated in the hospital group room watching TV. As he stands up to turn off the TV, a ping-pong ball hits him in the head. It's a new opportunity for Forrest. It's the start of a new life chapter for Forrest.
**-- HERE IS THE VIDEO TRANSCRIPT --** Opportunities most often land at your feet, but sometimes, they literally hit you right in the head. Hi I'm Steve Weber and I got figuratively hit in the head years ago when I was told over and over that I look like Tom Hanks. That morphed into working for Bubba Gump for 15 years as their Forrest Gump impersonator. Today, I'm a speaker and change ambassador and I've created the 94 best movie scenes to celebrate the movie Forrest Gump's 25th anniversary. While Forrest was in the group room at the military hospital recovering from his wound, a ping-pong ball hits him in the head. Sometimes opportunities land at our feet like the feather landed at Forrest's foot at the beginning of the movie, other times, opportunities figuratively - or literally - hit us in the head. Forrest took advantage of the opportunity. It was the start of a new life chapter for Forrest. Opportunities, sometimes land at our feet, and sometimes that hit us right in the head. It takes gumption to recognize opportunities whether they land out your feet or whether they hit you upside the head. Do you want to be more gump-like? ... Try seeing the next time you get smacked upside the head as an opportunity. Let's learn to live our lives with Gumption.
