All Things Eventually Come To An End
Forrest stopped after running for 3 years, 2 months, 14 days, and 16 hours. He announces he's tired, and that he's going home.
**-- HERE IS THE VIDEO TRANSCRIPT --** All things, eventually come to an end. Hi, I'm Steve Weber and today's scene #61 is all about putting an end to something whose time has come. It's another one of the best 94 scenes - and life lessons - from the movie Forrest Gump as we count down to the 25th Anniversary on July 6th, 2019. Forrest had run for 3 years, 2 months, 14 days, and 16 hours. But he was done. His running days were over. He was ready to go home. When we're in the middle of a project, sometimes they seem like it's never come to an end. But eventually, the project ends. When we're in the middle of a life chapter (maybe raising children) - it seems like it will never end. But the day eventually comes when they are gone. All things, eventually come to an end. This is a favorite scene of mine. I like that the man first tells everyone to, "Be quite, he's gonna say something" ... and then when Forrest walks through the parted crowd, the same man says, "Great, now what are we supposed to do?" It takes Gumption to know when it time to end something ... Forrest had Gumption and he knew his running days were over. Do you want to be more gump-like? ... Try putting an end to something today that's been going on for far too long ... and who's time has come to an end. Let's learn to live our lives with Gumption.
