And for 15 years, I sat on the bench for Bubba Gump and acted dumb, it was one of the smartest things I've ever did. It not only taught me about this great American movie, it gave me to the opportunity to have fun and give joy to a million plus people. Here is scene 42 of the 94 best scenes from the movie Forrest Gump to honor it's 25th anniversary. Lt. Dan gives Forrest and Bubba his two long-standing orders for serving in Vietnam under his command. 1. Take care of your feet ... and 2. Try not to do anything stupid like getting yourself killed. Forrest replied to Bubba, "I sure do hope I don't let him down." It's a good rule for life to 'try not to do anything stupid'. But stuff happens, Bubba did get killed.
