Don't Be Taking Rides From Strangers

**-- HERE IS THE VIDEO TRANSCRIPT --** Don't be taking rides from strangers. And don't be watching videos made by strangers ... I'm Steve Weber ... now we're not strangers anymore. Here is scene 25 of the 94 best scenes and life lessons from the movie Forrest Gump. I've created this video series to honor the movie's 25th anniversary. Forrest hesitates as he's about to get on the bus to school. He remembers what his mother told him, "Don't be taking rides from strangers". The bus driver, Dorothy Harris is initially perturbed. She blows cigarette smoke through her nose while explaining it's the bus to school. At the end of the movie we see Little Forrest boarding the bus. Dorothy no longer smokes cigarettes - she now chews gum. Little Forrest boarded the bus with a kinder and gentler Dorothy Harris at the wheel. After Forrest introduces himself, and Dorothy introduces herself to him , he feels more comfortable. A proper introduction makes strangers friends - or minimally acquaintances. It takes gumption to make new friends ... It takes gumption to trust strangers. Do you want to be more gump-like? ... Introduce yourself properly whenever you meet a stranger. Turn that stranger into a friend. Let's learn to live our lives with Gumption.
