Hi, I'm Steve Weber and today's scene #22 is Jenny's apology to Forrest. Jenny says to Forrest, "I want to apologize for anything I ever did to you." An acknowledgement of past damages done. She takes responsibility. She says, "I was messed up ... for a long time". The knock on the door interrupts Jenny's apology. We are left with the sense that she had more to say. We sense she wanted to express regret. Ask forgiveness. Promise it wouldn't happen again. Within minutes of Forrest reuniting with Jenny, she offered an apology. She knew that for their friendship to continue and grow, an apology was necessary.
