Put The Past Behind You

Forrest is seen running in the Painted Desert of Arizona. He suddenly stops. He turns around, tells the runners who've been following him that he's tired and that he's ready to go home. His running days was over.
**-- HERE IS THE VIDEO TRANSCRIPT --** Put the past behind you. Hi, I'm Steve Weber and I've created this video series of the 94 best scenes and life lessons from the movie Forrest Gump. Why 94? Because the movie came out in 1994. Here is scene #12 ... and in one way, this video series is about me putting the past behind me. Mama said you've got to put the past behind you, before you can move on ... I think maybe that's what my running was all about. Forrest started his run on the day that Jenny left him. He was stuck in the past - thinking about what might have been. When Forrest stopped, he was ready to put the past behind him. He was ready to stop being stuck in the past. He was already to start living in-the-moment again. He was ready to return to the present. Things happen. We replay those things in our minds over and over. We become a broken record. Repeating. Repeating. Stuck in the past. Mama's wisdom was again spot on. You've got to put the past behind you before you can move on. It takes Gumption to stop the broken record our minds sometimes get stuck on. Do you want to be more gump-like? ... Put the past behind you. Come back to the present and live in the moment. Let's learn to live our lives with Gumption.
