Braces Break Off Forrest's Legs

0:16:02
Forrest is first seen sitting on the bench explaining that miracles happen every day. We then see young Forrest running and his leg braces break free and he runs at top speed.
**-- HERE IS THE VIDEO TRANSCRIPT --** Forrest believed the wisdom of his mother, "miracles happen every day". Hi I'm Steve Weber and here is scene #11 of 94. I've created this video series of the best scenes and life lessons from the movie Forrest Gump to celebrate 2019 being the 25th anniversary of this classic film. When Forrest was first bullied by the school boys, he didn't have the ability to fight back. His only choice was to take flight. Because Forrest had braces on his legs, his ability to take flight, to run away was severely hampered. As Forrest was struggling to get away, a miracle occurred. The braces on his legs burst off. He was free to use his naturally strong legs. With his legs unencumbered, Forrest was able to easily escape from the bully boys. Forrest believed in miracles. He escaped that day from the bully boys. He escaped from the braces on his legs ... those escapes truly seemed like a miracle. Do you believe that miracles happen every day? I do. I also believe that we put mental braces on ourselves that keep us from running at full speed. It takes Gumption - and sometimes a miracle - to break free of our mental braces. Do you want to be more gump-like? ... Shed the braces you've put on yourself. Let yourself run free. Let yourself run at full speed. Let's learn to live our lives with Gumption.
